Our skills at your service.
Content & Translations
María develops our educational content and translates it into Spanish.
María was born and raised in Almería, Spain. In 1997 she obtained a degree in Accounting and Information Technology and worked as a business manager in a small firm until 2006, when she decided to follow her passion and went to the United States to attend college in order to obtain a degree in the field of education.
In 2010, she graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University (BYU), with a Bachelor in Special Education and endorsements in TESOL and Bilingual Education. As a research assistant for Dr. C. Ray Graham she worked in the development of leveled-reading benchmark materials for a pilot program at the Provo School District. She also collaborated in the development of other educational programs and tools such as SEEL, SVOP, and PSST. Those experiences marked her educational philosophy and are strongly reflected in our project.
After graduating from BYU, she taught in a private school. At the end of 2011, she stopped teaching full time and decided to become a SAHM in order to care for her newborn. Later that year, she began working on our Core Library on her spare time as a side project. Now she divides her time between raising two wonderfully messy bilingual children and developing 10e Learning.
Other interests include traveling, outdoors, music, cooking, gardening, and above all spending time with family and friends.
Art & Editing
Emily creates artwork for our site and edits the English texts.
Emily was born in San Antonio, TX, and grew up throughout the western United States. She attended the University of New Mexico (UNM) and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science for Signed Language Interpreting and a Bachelor of Art for Linguistics. Emily has had a life-long passion for art and has taken art classes off and on her whole life. In the future, she hopes to pursue more education in illustration and graphic design.
She also enjoys reading a wide variety of books, being actively involved in church, loves to play her violin, and enjoys having ample quality time with her family and friends.
Ammon is our chief technical officer and coordinates the development of our site.
Ammon is an open source fan and enjoys tinkering with new software and hardware. He graduated in 2012 from Brigham Young University (BYU) and is working towards a Master in Computer Science.
He also loves languages. If it is a language, he wants to learn it, whether it is a programming language or a language from a foreign country. He is a fluent speaker of both Spanish and Russian and studied Hindi and Urdu in college.
When he is not coding or keeping up with the new trends in technology, he enjoys being with his family and talking with friends from all over the world.
Kathy is our back end developer and database designer.
Kathy is a software engineer and loves game development. She was born and raised in Indiana, where she loved her Spanish classes, and where one summer she discovered a C++ tutorial on her computer and started learning to code.
In 2010 she received her bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in Spanish from Brigham Young University (BYU). After graduating from BYU she worked for Art and Logic until she became a full time “child programmer” and part time developer.
Kathy lives in Michigan with her loving husband and their adorable little girl. She budgets her time between caring for her family with building things with code.
Elena is our Spanish editor.
Elena is from Almería, Spain. She obtained her degree in Public Relations in 1997, and since then, she has been working for different companies in the area.
Later on, her passion for reading led her into the world of literature as a professional writer and editor.
Elena organizes literary events for Mislital, a literary association, of which she is co-founder, and runs a blog of book reviews, Tiempo de Lectura, where she offers insights on her last readings and promotes the work of other fellow writers. Also, she collaborates with different publishing companies as a freelance editor, layout and cover designer.
